Tap offers dancers the means to learn and enhance their sense of musicality, rhythm and dynamics. A.D.A.P.T. exams are available along with workshops.
Entrance to exams is at the discretion of Miss Jan and Miss Richelle.
What is A.D.A.P.T.
A.D.A.P.T. is an acronym that stands for "Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers" A.D.A.P.T. is a certified dance syllabus that offers yearly examinations in the dance disciplines of Tap, Jazz and Ballet. The syllabus system is taught by Canadian dance teachers from coast to coast. A.D.A.P.T. represents an elite group of dance teachers who follow the dance syllabus and enter their students in the yearly examination process. A.D.A.P.T. dance teachers are leaders in quality dance training. They teach love of dance and movement not only to the elite student, but to the recreational dancer as well.
Why Participate in the exam process? - Exams are a great way to develop skills. Exams lead to wonderful possibilities. Exams help dancers gain knowledge and build their confidence in life skills and dance.
What will the students achieve? - Students who participate in the exam process will receive a comment sheet from the examiner and all passing students will receive a certificate honouring their achievement.
A.D.A.P.T JAZZ and TAP Examinations
Exams will be held in the winter
Exams are at the discretion of Miss Richelle and Miss Jan
Exams will be held a Island Dance Studio
Exams are rewarding and they are a big commitment - extra classes may be required
Exams require an additional fee
Exam Levels and Requirements:
Junior 1, 2, & 3
1 - 2 classes per week
Pre Intermediate 1, 2, 3
3 classes per week
Intermediate 1, 2, 3
Company A & B Dancers
Must also take Ballet Exams to be successful at this level
Pre Advanced and Advanced
For the elite full time Company A Dancer only
For students who wish to work in the Dance industry
