The Nutcracker

To Whom It May Concern:

Island Dance Studio will be presenting its annual presentation of The Nutcracker this December. The Nutcracker is a wonderful holiday ballet that incorporates the worlds of dance, creativity and imagination. This holiday tradition showcases Clara and Fritz, an Arabian Princess, dancing candy canes, mice and Snowflakes, a Snow Queen and a Sugar Plum Fairy and is one you wait all year to see.

We are proud our performances take place at the newly renovated Town Hall 1873. Island Dance Studio proudly supports utilizing local amenities and encourages the community to support its local venue.

All cast members of The Nutcracker are local dance students striving to perfect their art. Every dancer enrolled at Island Dance Studio is given the opportunity to be a part of the The Nutcracker cast. Beginner or experienced dancer, young or old, all dancers are welcomed and invited to partake in this experience. This non-profit experience extends its hand and spreads holiday cheer by giving all cast members their instruction and rehearsal at no cost.

We believe that supporting the community and the arts, along with our local talent is very important. We want to encourage our young dancers to reach for the stars. We would like to extend an invitation for your school to come and see our presentation. This gives school children the opportunity to see live theatre and to engage in some holiday cheer. We believe our show provides a wonderful learning experience to both our performers and audience members. The Nutcracker is a wonderful opportunity for our young cast members to perform for their peers and the community, therefore bringing some seasonal cheer to Port Perry!

Our performances will take place December 11th. Time of the performances will be determined through preference of the attending schools. Please note that the performance is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes long and students must bring clean indoor shoes to wear in the theatre.

The cost per ticket is $7.00. If you wish to attend please reply no later than December 1st, 2009, indicating the number of tickets your school requires and your preference for date and time of show. Please request your ideal morning, or afternoon start time and whether or not you would like a 10-15 minute intermission.

Please join us in experiencing the magic found yearly in The Nutcracker! We look forward to seeing you there!

Yours truly,
